Setting up a Parent Council

Governors are looking at the schools meals arrangements for Forge Valley and are considering, in particular, whether we will manage our own catering service or be part of the central School Meals contract with the Local Authority. 

We are intending to set up a Working Group of students, parents and staff to discuss all the different aspects of the meals service;

What kind of food should we be serving?

Should we have a 'stay on site' policy for all year groups?

What is the best way to organise the dining rooms so that students don't have to queue for a long time?

Two parents from our partner feeder schools have kindly volunteered to be part of the group. The meetings will be organised to take place either at the beginning or end of the school day to help working parents be able to attend these if necessary. We will also try to be flexible about how we communicate and share ideas - e.g. using email etc to minimise the number of meetings.
